Official Statement on the County's Endorsement of Nick LaLota

"The County Chairman put out guidance over the summer that said that no individual would be considered for the party nomination unless they attended all four Republican candidate screenings. I am the only candidate who attended all four – Nick did not go to a single one. The chairman's decision to endorse LaLota's candidacy is a slap in the face to every committee person who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend those screenings, listen to the candidates speak and fill out candidate rating forms. The decision to ignore the wishes of these duly elected committee people shows me that the local party leaders do not care about the will of the people.

These backroom deals are destroying our county, our state, and our country and something must change. I am running to represent the people's interests and to make sure their voices are heard. The party's endorsed candidate should not be determined by corrupt backroom deals where the people's opinions don't matter. I’m in this race to end corruption and to make sure democracy prevails on all levels of government. We need candidates who invest time in their community, not themselves and unfortunately, when party leaders override the will of their committees, you get career politicians as the chosen candidates."
