Suffolk County Police Officer Leaves Hospital After Weeks in Coma

After sustaining severe cranial injuries on November 2nd, Suffolk County Police Officer Tim Thrane was released from the hospital and will be spending Christmas with his family. On November 2nd, an intoxicated individual lost control of the wheel and struck other cars on the road. One of the vehicles struck spun out and hit Officer Thrane, cracking his skull and causing serious bleeding. The officer was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and needed to be resuscitated numerous times. Upon his arrival, Officer Thrane was attended to by our "heroes in scrubs" and was ultimately placed in a medically induced coma for weeks.
